Headland is based in San Rafael and works throughout Marin and San Francisco. The design changes with the property: hillside water and backup power in Mill Valley, gates and docks in Tiburon, old walls and shared-building boundaries in the city.
The standard does not change. Document what exists. Connect what can be trusted. Keep the system local, legible, and owned by the client.
Mill Valley: hillside systems without opening every wall
Water, wells, irrigation, solar and battery, older wiring, dead network zones, and the reality of keeping a property operating during an outage.
Tiburon and Belvedere: keep the good hardware, take back the keys
Existing dealer systems, gates, guest houses, pools, docks, cameras, and water protection, brought into one owned interface where the equipment allows it.
San Francisco: modern control that respects an old building
Condos, Victorians, Edwardians, HOA boundaries, plaster walls, leak risk, and wireless-first systems that avoid unnecessary construction.
